Fractional execs. Real ownership. Real outcomes.

Fractional CMO, CTO, CRO, and Head of AI for SMBs and scaling teams. Hands on the work, eyes on the strategy, on retainer for 10 to 40 hours per week. Most companies need a senior operator more than another agency.

The roster

Four roles. Each one senior. Each one operator.

The fractional tax you have been paying

What other fractionals sold you.
What we actually do.

What they sold you

A consultant who shows up for a kickoff and ships a 90-page deck

What we actually do

An operator who shows up for the standup and ships work alongside the team

What they sold you

Strategy decoupled from execution, then handed off to overworked staff

What we actually do

Strategy paired with hands on the keyboard for the levers that need senior touch

What they sold you

"Office hours" with no real ownership

What we actually do

Embedded in your tooling (Slack, GitHub, Notion, Linear) with real accountability

What they sold you

A retainer that is mostly meetings

What we actually do

A retainer that is mostly shipped work, measured in outcomes not hours

What they sold you

A coach who talks about your category

What we actually do

An operator who has shipped in your category before

What they sold you

A "fractional" who has six other clients and no time for yours

What we actually do

A senior operator with a small portfolio, real bandwidth, real focus

The timeline

Week one, embedded. Quarter one, org-level shifts. The work in between is what makes the difference.

W1

Embedded and oriented.

  • Deep-dive interviews with founders, leadership, key team members
  • Stack, data, and process audit
  • 90-day plan drafted with prioritized levers
  • Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub access set up, embedded in the tools
  • First quick wins identified and started
M1

First wins shipped.

  • 2 to 4 prioritized levers delivered (campaign launched, architecture decision shipped, hiring loop opened, pricing change tested)
  • Cadence locked: weekly leadership standup, biweekly strategy review, monthly board-prep packet
  • Team coaching pattern established for direct reports
  • Vendor and agency review completed (yes, including ours when relevant)
  • Reporting wired to the metrics the board actually cares about
Q1

Org-level shifts.

  • Channel mix or architecture or revenue motion meaningfully redesigned and shipped
  • Hires made, role definitions tightened, performance management on cadence
  • 12-month roadmap locked with quarterly milestones
  • ROI of the engagement defensible in plain numbers
  • Decision: extend, scale up to a larger fraction, or transition to a full-time hire
Why Farin Innovations

What you get with us that you do not get with anyone else.

01
Operators, not advisors.

Hands on the work, not just the strategy.

Most fractional services give you a coach who reviews your team’s work. We give you a senior operator who does the work alongside your team when the lever requires senior touch. Strategy decoupled from execution is just talking.

02
18 years of cycles.

We have shipped through every cycle since 2008.

Operating across recessions, recoveries, every algorithm shift, every platform death, every shiny new channel. The plays that worked in 2014 do not work now. We know which ones do, which ones are about to stop, and which ones are noise.

03
Embedded in your tools.

Slack, GitHub, Notion, Linear, your CRM. Not just a calendar.

Your fractional shows up where the work happens. Real accountability, real visibility, real shipped work. Not weekly office hours and a Friday slide.

04
Real bandwidth.

Small portfolio, real focus.

Each of our fractionals carries 2 to 4 clients at a time, not 10. Real time on your business, real headspace for your problems, real mind-share when you need a 9pm call.

05
Plays well with the rest.

Fractional + the rest of Farin Innovations is the most efficient version.

When your fractional CMO also has the team running your SEO, your paid, your content, your AI, the loop closes. Strategy ships because the people who execute it report into the same operator who set it. The opposite of agencies fighting fractionals fighting in-house teams.

FAQ

Senior questions. Senior answers.

The questions every founder and CEO asks us before bringing in a fractional. We answer them straight, no consultant fog, no hourly-rate shuffle.

What is the minimum engagement length?

6 months. Senior fractional work compounds. The first month is embedding and quick wins. The second is real shipped levers. The third is org-level shifts. Anything shorter is a retainer dressed as a fractional, not the real thing.

How many hours per week?

10 to 30 hours per week depending on the role and the stage. Most engagements start at 15 hours per week and adjust up or down after the first month based on what the work actually requires.

Will the same person be on my engagement the whole time?

Yes. Fractional means one named senior operator who knows your business, your team, your numbers. Not a rotating bench of strategists. If your fractional ever needs to transition, we run a real handover with overlap.

Can I move to a full-time hire after a fractional engagement?

Yes. Many of our fractional engagements end with the company hiring a full-time CMO, CTO, CRO, or Head of AI to take the seat. Your fractional helps define the role, build the hiring loop, interview candidates, and onboard the hire. Then steps out cleanly.

How do you measure success?

Outcomes specific to the role. For a fractional CMO: pipeline, share-of-voice, channel ROI. For a fractional CTO: shipped architecture, team velocity, system reliability. For a fractional CRO: revenue, retention, GTM efficiency. For a fractional Head of AI: production AI systems, optimization wins, cost discipline. Plain English reporting, monthly board-prep packet.

Do you also bring in your team for execution?

When it makes sense. Your fractional CMO can pull in our SEO, paid, content, AI, or website teams when the strategy needs execution at scale. The fractional sets the roadmap. The team executes. You can also keep your existing in-house team or other vendors and the fractional integrates into that mix. Either way works.

Is this just an expensive coach?

No. A coach reviews your team’s work and gives feedback. A fractional ships the work alongside your team when the lever requires senior touch. Hands on the keyboard. Decisions made. Hires made. Architecture shipped. Most weeks, more time spent doing than reviewing.

What does it cost?

Custom by scope. Fractional engagements typically run $8K to $25K per month depending on hours per week and seniority of the role. A fractional CMO at 15 hours per week is roughly $10K to $14K. A fractional Head of AI at 20 hours per week is roughly $12K to $18K. Pricing happens after a 30-minute scoping call. No public price list.
